₹2000 notes deposited in 90 crore account and 25 crore exchanged
Lucknow. “Guidelines issued by RBI should be displayed in the bank branches so that there is no confusion among the customers”, YK Arora, state convenor of the United Forum of Bank Unions expressed this view today. He told that all the banks are doing the work of depositing and exchanging ₹ 2000 notes as per the guidelines of RBI. At some places they are being asked to show ID proof etc.
Today there was a normal banking rush of ₹2000 depositors. Due to the time of deposit of these notes being four months, there is no pressure of crowd in the banks.
Forum’s media in-charge Anil Tiwari told that according to an estimate, ₹ 2000 notes were deposited in 90 crore accounts and 25 crore were exchanged.
