Karachi: YouTube organized its first Brandcast in Pakistan which was attended by a large number of Pakistani YouTubers and content creators.

In a media briefing on this occasion, Farhan S. Qureshi, Country Director of Google Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, said that the monetization of YouTube’s short-lived new series “Shorts” will be started from February 2023.
Citing research by Google and Kantar, he said that 62 percent of online Pakistanis between the ages of 18 and 24 are using YouTube.
He said that during the year ending June 2021, the number of YouTubers earning Rs 10 lakh per year in Pakistan increased by 110%.
76% of Pakistanis who use YouTube said they use YouTube to learn new things and ideas.
According to the research, 78% of the 48% rural population of Pakistan who have come online use YouTube.
On this occasion, YouTube Partner Development and Management Director Marc Lefkowitz said that the number of YouTube channels with 100,000 subscribers in Pakistan has exceeded 5400 in the last one year. 35% has increased. There are more than 350 of these channels that have more than a million subscribers.
