2nd Team Travel Start- Dinamani

Group 2 of the Amarnath Yatra comprising 5,700 devotees with tight security arrangements started the journey in 230 vehicles from Jammu’s Bhagwati Nagar camp early on Thursday morning.

Amarnath Cave is located at an altitude of 3,888 meters above sea level in the Kashmir Himalayas. Hindus worship the snow-formed lingam as Lord Shiva. For this, they travel for several days and reach there.

Officials said that a total of 10,700 devotees have traveled to the Amarnath cave temple in two groups from different parts of the country.

The 43-day pilgrimage from Pahalgam and Baltal camps in Kashmir, which started on Thursday, ends on August 11.

The Amanat pilgrimage has not taken place for the past two years due to the spread of corona infection.

Lieutenant Governor Worship: Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha offered prayers at the Amarnath temple on Thursday to mark the beginning of his 43-day Amarnath visit. He expressed hope that the pilgrims visiting the Amarnath temple from all parts of the country will have a safe journey.

Considering the influx of devotees, the Jammu and Kashmir Government and the Sri Amarnath Temple Board have made necessary arrangements.
