5 officials of Islamabad Electric Supply Company arrested for corruption – Qudrat Daily

The audit officers received crores of rupees in bribes in the name of clearing ISCO’s audit.
The spokesperson also said that among the arrested accused are Zeeshan Ali, Nazir Hussain, Ishtiaq Ahmed, Jahangir Ahmed and Saqib Saghir. Accused Zeeshan Ali Akbar was appointed as Audit Officer and Nazr Hussain as Assistant Audit Officer. The defendants were appointed by the Deputy Director of Procurement and Coordination Office Lahore. The accused were appointed for the audit of ISCO Operation Jhelum Circle and Regional Manager Transformer Workshop Islamabad.
The accused were arrested from GT Road Gujar Khan and one crore 4 lakh 75 thousand rupees were recovered. This amount was given by ISCO Account Officer Ishtiaq Ahmed, Jahangir Ahmed and Saqib Saghir. The accused were arrested red-handed with the money.
According to the initial investigation, the ISCO officials received the amounts mentioned by the officials posted in the field. The Islamabad anti-corruption circle has registered a case against the accused. The accused were arrested and the investigation started. More arrests are expected upon identification of the arrested accused.
