Jalna: A 19-year-old college-educated young woman from Lakshminagar area on Kharpudi Road in the city works as an accountant in a coaching class. The young woman’s father works as a labor supplier to construction workers. Sohail Anis Pathan (Rest. Pirkalyan), the son of the girl’s father’s friend, was working to help her father in his labor supply business. As the girl’s father did not pick up the phone, he called Sohail from his daughter’s mobile phone. Taking this opportunity to get the young woman’s mobile number, Sohail fell in love with her. Sohela lured the young woman by repeated calls and lured her to the Thinking Cafe Cup shop near Azad Maidan and raped her twice. On March 8 and April 14, he went to Thinking Cafe and forcibly raped her by taking a compartment room by paying Rs 500 each time. After this rape, the girl became pregnant. After she told this matter to Sohail, on June 3, Sohail gave her abortion pills. As even these pills did not induce abortion, he again brought her abortion pills 3 times on July 10th and August 11th. Due to taking medicines without doctor’s advice, the said girl suffered from massive bleeding and her condition worsened. After that Sohail admitted her to a private hospital in Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Chowk and from there he died. As Sohail did not come to the hospital till late at night, the young woman called her parents and called them to the hospital. After the girl was treated at the hospital and her condition improved, she filed a complaint at the Sadar Bazar police station last Monday night. A case under section 376, 376 (2) (N), 315, 506 has been registered against the accused Sohail Pathan in this matter, and further investigation is being conducted by Assistant Police Inspector of Pink Mobile Squad, Ingewad.
