The Tamil Nadu Chief Minister alleged that Amul, the long-standing milk producer and marketing organization in the state, Avin and its 450,000 members, is facing problems. He also said that until now, Amul was selling only dairy products produced by the company in Tamil Nadu through its own stores. But this time Amul is also building a milk processing plant in Krishnagiri district of the state using its privileged license. And this famous cooperative organization of Gujarat has started collecting milk from at least six districts near that district.

Another southern state, Karnataka, was also embroiled in controversy ahead of the assembly elections. Various products of the Karnataka Government Dairy Cooperative are sold under the name ‘Nandini’. This brand is quite popular in the state. And Amul’s products are sold all over the country. But in the face of the vote, it is known that this time ‘Amul’ will not only sell products.

Milk traders in Karnataka were afraid that Amul wanted to take over the entire cooperative system of the state. However, due to the strong objection of the opposition, that organization of Gujarat suspended the process as at that time.
