Alert issued after leopard ventures into India from Pakistan in Jammu and Kashmir’s Samba
After getting the information from the concerned BSF unit, all the Border Police Posts were alerted. The official said that they have been asked to inform the residents about the presence of the leopard and take necessary precautions while roaming around, especially during the night.
The Wildlife Protection Department has also been informed and efforts are on to capture the big cat, he said.
He said police teams were sent to Keso, Barota, Lagwal, Pakhri and nearby villages near Nursery Chowki for the safety of the local people.
