Amjad’s family is worried about higher education even though his father is a migrant worker

Amjad is a resident of Barishardanga-Dhaloguri in Mathabhanga-2 block. A family of four including one grandfather Mostak Hossain. There is a shortage of salt in the world. Mostak is preparing for the civil services exam in Kolkata. The tuition fee is to be sent monthly from home. Father Azid Mian is the sole breadwinner in a helpless needy family. He works as a migrant worker in a foreign country.
In the words of Amjad, ‘he did not think that he would be in the first ten in the state merit list. I got help from school teachers and parents. I want to become a professor in the future after studying geography with honors. According to father Azid Mian, the family situation is deplorable. Two boys want to study. A lot of money is being spent on the eldest son. I am worried about how to pay for the education of my two sons.’
Acting teacher of Premerdanga High School Mithuranjan Sarkar said, ‘Amjad has always been a good student. First in class every year. I was hopeful that he would do well. The school brightened up by placing in the state merit list. In the afternoon, various officials of the administration gave a reception and assured to be with the family.
