He boarded the train to take a selfie and found himself locked inside the same train and had to travel to the next station. The selfie-taking man reportedly boarded the newly launched Vande Bharat train at Rajahmundry station on Monday.

But when the train’s automatic doors close, he is locked inside. The train reached the next station before he got off the train.

The video of this incident has gone viral online. It shows footage of a man being interrogated by a Railway Ticket Examiner (TTE) for boarding a train without a ticket in order to take a selfie.

The TTE told the man that he would only be able to alight at the next station, Vijayawada station.

According to news media reports, the man was not fined for traveling without a ticket. However, the unlucky selfie taker had to travel to Vijayawada before alighting and catching a train back to Rajahmundry.

The Vande Bharat Express train connecting Secunderabad to Visakhapatnam was launched on January 15. Many people have reached the station to see the train.

In this case, the railway authorities have requested those without tickets not to board the train. However, the man is said to have entered the train for a selfie

“The passenger was released after consultation and no penalty was imposed,” Walther DRM Anoop Satpathy said.
