AP Muncial school teacher vacancies: The government on Friday (June 24) issued orders handing over the administration and supervision of 2,114 municipal schools in the state of Andhra Pradesh to the school education department. Of these, 345 are high schools, 149 are primary schools and 1620 are primary schools. From now on all these schools will continue to be under the purview of the AP Department of Education. Of the total 123 municipalities and corporations across the state, only 59 have municipal schools. A total of 13,948 teacher posts have been sanctioned for these. There are currently 12,006 teachers in these posts. The Department of Education said the remaining 1942 teacher posts were vacant.
The AP government said in the orders that the municipal schools were transferred to the school education department as per the requests received from the teacher emcees. However, the AP government has made it clear that the latest change will not create any problems for teachers’ promotions. The government on the occasion said that the merged municipal schools will henceforth implement the same duty policies as those implemented in the district and mandal parishad schools. However, the government has issued orders to the effect that the assets of the respective municipal schools will remain under the control of the Municipal Department.
