The founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has approached the Islamabad High Court to stop possible military detention.
The PTI founder filed a petition in the Islamabad High Court through Uzair Bhandari Advocate, in which the accused was asked to be tried in civil courts and kept in civil custody.
The petition cited a five-judge Supreme Court bench that said civilians cannot be tried in a military court.
It was stated in the petition that a few days ago a former senior military officer was taken into military custody, after which, according to the media, the founder of PTI will also be taken into military custody.
The petition also included the statement of the government minister, Barrister Aqeel Malik, according to which the founder of PTI can be presented for trial in a military court.
In the petition, the position has been adopted that the multi-trial of the PTI founder chairman will be a violation of the constitution and the law.
