Argentina captain’s big ‘gift’ for the team
Argentina’s FIFA World Cup winning star Lionel Messi has made a big decision for the team. Messi will be gifting gold iPhones to every member of his squad and support staff. Argentina recorded a historic victory over France in the final of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. According to a report by a private news agency, each 24 carat gold iPhone costs around Rs 1.73 crore.
Each phone is engraved with the player’s name, jersey number and the Argentina logo. The phones were delivered to Messi’s apartment in Paris. It is said that Lionel Messi wanted to do something special and spectacular to celebrate his proudest moment. He approached entrepreneur Ben Lyon and together they created a design.
Ben Lyons, CAO of iDesign Gold said, “Lionel is one of iDesign Gold’s most loyal customers. He contacted us a few months after the World Cup. He wanted to give a special gift to all the players and staff to celebrate the great victory in the World Cup. I suggested giving him a gold iPhone with his name on it. He liked the idea.’
