Army Chief Manoj Pandey will not reduce the number of soldiers on China border
- China is stationed on the border from Sikkim to Kibithu
- The Indian Army is capable of giving a befitting response to any situation
- China deployed 50,000 troops along the border
China is not ready to take back its step, creating a dispute with India on the border of Eastern Ladakh. Additional troops of China’s People’s Liberation Army (PLA) have been deployed along the LAC in India’s eastern sector. Due to which the case of planned retreat of forces has become serious. Along with this, the Indian Army has deployed a large number of troops there to face any military emergency.
Indian Army Chief Manoj Pandey said China’s PLA has not reduced its troop numbers from the Line of Actual Control (LAC) and is rapidly upgrading troops along the border. He said China had deployed 50,000 troops along the border with heavy weapons to try to advance into Galwan, Gogra Hot Springs and Pagong Tso.

General Manoj Pandey said that the major challenge on the LAC is the deployment of PLA troops in large numbers. Based on the change in PLA troop deployment, he said at least 6 light to medium combined armored brigades are expected to be deployed from Sikkim to Kibithu in Arunachal Pradesh.
The Indian Army’s assessment was that the additional reserve troops deployed along the LAC would be moved back to their bases in the PLA’s Northern and Eastern Commands after the election of Xi Jinping as the Chinese President for the third time. However, the current assessment is that these troops remain there to maintain pressure on India’s eastern sector. India, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and national security planners, has also responded to border violations more quickly than in previous decades.
Quick work on LAC
With the help of upgraded roads, communication channels and advanced landing ground network along the LAC, the Indian Army is able to give a befitting response to any situation and should immediately inform the local authorities in such cases, apart from allegations by the opposition. The Modi government has been given the right to take a decision ignoring China’s threat. He said that the situation on the LAC is stable, but we need to closely monitor the overall development.
