As a gesture of peace, Pakistan returned an Indian soldier
Lahore: An Indian soldier who accidentally entered Pakistan while posted on the border has been sent home.
On Wednesday morning, Pakistan Rangers apprehended a Border Security Force (BSF) jawan who had entered the Head Sulemanki area of Pakistan (Punjab).
According to an Indian media site, the soldier unintentionally crossed the international border and entered Pakistan due to “very poor visibility” due to severe fog.
Following the incident, Pakistani Rangers and BSF officers met under the Pakistani flag after the Indian commander admitted that one of his soldiers had inadvertently crossed into Pakistan.
In a show of calm, the Pakistani authorities returned the BSF jawan to the authorities on Thursday. Pakistani authorities are yet to confirm the incident.
An Indian soldier has crossed over to the opposing side twice in the last week.
