Balvenahalli incident: Demand punishment for the guilty – Sanjevani
Mariammanahalli, September 22: Recently, the president of the Aam Aadmi Party’s Hobi unit of the town, Jogi Revanna, has submitted a petition to the deputy sub-tahsildar of the Nadakaryalaya, condemning the violence committed on a boy during the procession of the village deity in Balvenahalli village of Malur taluk, Kolar district, and demanding that appropriate action be taken against the culprits.
60,000/- for raping a Scheduled Caste boy who touched God’s punch stick of Balvenahalli village, Kolar district. Apart from being fined, the family was also threatened with ostracism if the money was not paid by October 1. He condemned this inhumane act and demanded to stop the inhuman incidents of inhumanity happening to Dalits even after 25 years of independence in India. He requested that the victim’s family and the villagers be punished fairly and immediately.
Later, along with the registration of new members to the party, he conducted the party’s campaign in the villages of Garaga, Nagalapur, Balakundi and Danayakanakere.
On this occasion, Aam Aadmi Party’s aspirant for the MLA seat of H.Bo.Halli assembly constituency Dr. V.H. Hanumanthappa, District President J.N. Kalidas, G. Ravikumar, Nitin, Satish, Siddesh, Durgesh, Venkatesh Gosangi and others were there.
