Bankruptcy! 11 crore worth of property has been taken into custody by ED
North Bengal News Digital Desk: ED has taken custody of 25 bank accounts in the name of Anubrata Mondal and his family. ED had applied to the court on May 3 to take custody of the accounts. It got legal approval on Wednesday. Anuvrata can challenge this action of ED and go to court. In that case he has to apply within 45 days. Not only Kesht, their accountant Manish Kothari’s property worth Rs 26 lakh also went into the custody of ED that day.
Arrested in the cow smuggling case, Anuvrata Mondal and his daughter Sukanya are currently in Delhi’s Tihar Jail. BSF Commandant Satish Kumar, Enamul Haque, Kestor’s former bodyguard Sahgal Hossain are also in the same jail in this case. On May 11, Anuvrata had also filed a petition in the special CBI court in Asansol to open two accounts of Bhole Byom Chalkal. However, Delhi’s Rouse Avenue court did not respond to that plea. On the other hand, ED has taken custody of 25 bank accounts in the names of Anubrata Mondal and his family.
According to ED sources, these bank accounts have been taken into their custody. The court sealed the ED application today. As a result of this legal compliance match, a total of Rs 11 crore 26 lakh property went into the custody of the ED. Apart from 25 bank accounts, there are several lands and paddy fields in the name of Anuvrata’s wife and daughter. The two-storied house Anubrata lived in in Bolpur’s Nichupatti area was his ancestral property. As a result it is not in the custody of ED. A total of Rs 26 lakh belonging to Kest and his family, chartered accountant Manish Kothari, was also seized by the ED.
According to the ED lawyers, the reason for seizing the account of the accused is so that it cannot be handed over. Accused does not get any financial benefit from that property. Because the government cannot take the property until the accused is proven guilty in court. In this case too Anubrata or his family will not get any interest on the money deposited in the bank by Anubrata and Manish.
