O. Panneerselvam has formed a 118-member election committee to work in the Erode East constituency by-election, according to his supporter J. C. T. Prabhakar.
O. Panneerselvam has announced that he is going to field a candidate against the Edappadi Palaniswami team in the Erode East assembly constituency by-election. Subsequently, O. Panneerselvam met the alliance party leaders and gathered their support.

JCD Prabhakar, speaking to the media after that, said that if the BJP announces that it will not contest in the Erode East by-election, O. Panneerselvam will immediately announce the candidate.
