The board of Byju’s parent company Think and Learn Private Limited has approved the rights issue to raise $200 million or Rs 1,663 crore from investors. According to sources, this rights issue will start on January 29 and will be valid for the next 30 days.

Sources said this rights issue is at a post-money valuation of $225 million or Rs 1,871 crore. This is 99% less than the company’s previous round of funding, which was done at a cost of $22 billion i.e. Rs 1.82 lakh crore. This also means that the pre-money valuation of Byju’s will now be $25 million ie Rs 207 crore, which is 99.9% less than the previous round of funding.

According to people associated with the development, the company expects most of its investors, including founder Byju Raveendran, to participate in this round. The subscription price is kept low so that all investors can participate and profit.
