CBI files FIR against 5 including SP Sinha in SSC group C scam

Staff Reporter: New twist in SSC recruitment corruption case investigation. Following the court’s order, the CBI on Saturday filed a fresh FIR under the non-bailable clause in the probe into allegations of irregularities in the appointment of SSC Group C XI-XII. In the wake of fresh FIRs, it is clear that the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) is stepping up its pressure on SSC recruitment corruption cases.

The names of Shanti Prasad Sinha, the then head of the SSC’s advisory committee, Kalyanmoy Gangopadhyay, Samarjit Acharya, Soumitra Sarkar and Ashok Saha are named in today’s FIR. The five have been charged under sections 120 (b), 417, 465 and 34 of the Indian Penal Code. Not only that, the CBI detectives have also filed a case under Section 47, which is not bailable. The CBI had mentioned in the FIR that the committee was formed with the approval of former education minister Perth Chatterjee.

According to CBI sources, five SSC and Education Department officials have already submitted their property accounts in the SSC recruitment corruption case. This time, the Central Detectives started checking all the information about the movable and immovable property of the five members of the advisory committee. It is learned that CBI investigators have also asked all five members, including former SSC adviser Shanti Prasad Sinha, to submit their bank account and income tax documents. In addition, five members of the SSC, including former SSC adviser Shanti Prasad Sinha, have been asked to provide documents on where their assets have been in the last five years, CBI sources said.

Twelve FIRs have already been lodged against state education minister Paresh Adhikari for illegally giving her a job. Paresh was interrogated for 4 hours for the third time on this day. According to sources, Paresh submitted several documents to the CBI. He was asked, “How many numbers did his daughter Ankitar have in the merit list of School Service Commission (SSC)?” When did Ankita join the school job? Who did Pareshbabu communicate with on the phone between his daughter getting a job and joining work? What did you talk to them about drawing? Asked who was talking to when joining the grassroots, what issues were discussed. Was the girl’s job then a condition for joining? Investigators interrogated Paresh yesterday, leaving a call list on his mobile phone. The whole process of interrogation of Paresh was also videographed on the 18th floor of Nizam Palace. According to sources, the state minister of education is being given notice to reappear.
