The central government has imposed 40 per cent export duty on onions. In protest against this, hundreds of Congress workers reached the collectorate office and submitted a memorandum to the President. In the memorandum, the Congress said in the memorandum that the imposition of export duty has badly affected the prices of onions. Due to which onion producing farmers are also finding it difficult to extract the cost price.

The Congress said that Mandsaur district has been the main producer of onion and garlic. The farmers here produce these crops by investing a lot of money. Due to such wrong policies of the government, the farmers have to bear heavy losses. Day by day the farmer is getting buried under the debt. The Congress has demanded immediate repeal of the 40 per cent export duty imposed on onions for the benefit of the farmers.
