Lahore: There is a possibility of heavy rain in Punjab including Lahore today and tomorrow.
According to the Meteorological Department, the rain is expected to start in Lahore from this afternoon. Monsoon rains are also likely in Gujranwala, Rawalpindi, Sargodha, Multan, Dera Ghazi Khan, Bahawalpur, Faisalabad, Sahiwal and Gujarat divisions.
DG PDMA says he has issued an alert to the administration across the province regarding the weather situation and ordered to complete advance arrangements in view of the fear of urban flooding. Commissioners, DC, WASA, Department of Irrigation, Rescue, Civil Defense and other concerned departments have been asked to be careful.
The situation is monitored 24 hours a day in the PDMA control room. The public is asked to stay in old buildings, poles and safe places to avoid lightning. Avoid unnecessary trips in case of bad weather. In case of emergency, contact the PDMA helpline 1129.
