Mumbai. Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari administered the oath of office to Eknath Shinde as the 20th Chief Minister of the state at Raj Bhavan in south Mumbai on Thursday evening. Koshiari later administered the oath of office to Devendra Fadnavis as Deputy Chief Minister. At the same time, the last 10 days of political heat in the state have come to an end. The swearing-in ceremony was held a day after former chief minister Uddhav Thackeray resigned following a major uprising among Shiv Sena MLAs. Later BJP president J. P. Following instructions from top party officials like Nadda, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the two-time former CM Fadnavis finally agreed to join the new regime as No. 2 (Deputy CM). In a series of tweets, Nadda said the BJP has decided to support Eknath Shinde, who has a big heart for the good of the people of Maharashtra. “Even Devendra Fadnavis has taken a big heart to join the cabinet, which shows his devotion to the people of Maharashtra,” he said.
