MUMBAI – Even before the Union Budget, a news of relief for common people has come out. CNG price has been reduced in Mumbai and nearby cities. Officials of Mahanagar Gas Limited have informed that the price of compressed natural gas has been reduced by two and a half rupees in Mumbai and nearby cities. Hence, vehicles using CNG in Mumbai will now have to pay Rs 87 per kg instead of Rs 89.50.
These rates will be applicable from midnight of 31st January. The reduction in the price of CNG will bring relief to motorists. Because the prices of CNG are lower compared to petrol. In October 2022, CNG rate was increased from Rs.80 to Rs.86. After that, CNG price increased once or twice to Rs 89.50 per kg. Now it has been decided to reduce the CNG price by two and a half rupees. This decision of Mahanagar Gas will benefit more than 8 lakh customers of the city.
The price hike took place in December
A few days before the start of the new year, the common man was hit by the CNG price hike. At that time CNG rate was increased by Rs.3.50. While the price of PNG for domestic consumption was increased by one and a half rupees. After this price hike, CNG in Mumbai was Rs 89.50 per kg and PNG was Rs 54 per scm.
