Congress-led UDF fared well, LDF lost 6 seats
The Congress-led UDF fared well, while the CPI(M)-led LDF lost six seats in the local body polls, results of which were declared on Wednesday.
While the UDF captured five seats, one seat went to the BJP in the bypolls held for 28 wards.
The popularity of the Pinarayi Vijayan government, which has come under criticism on several issues, seems to be waning now. The Left Wing was able to retain 13 and recapture one.
Incidentally, the same was the case last year when the results of various wards were declared, in which the Left parties were defeated.
