Consideration of creating a parliamentary quota for allotment of Category One plots to Members of Parliament

Islamabad: The federal government is considering making a parliamentary quota for the allotment of category one plots to members of parliament.

According to information received by Express News from government sources, the federal government is considering allocating quota for members of parliament in government housing schemes.

Federal Government Employees Housing Authority’s government housing scheme will allot plots to MPs under parliamentary quota, after which they can be allotted a category one plot once in their lifetime.

However, no other person from the family of a Member of Parliament who is a beneficiary under the Parliamentary Quota will be able to take any plot in any scheme of the Federal Government Employees Housing Authority.

The Board of the Federal Government Employees Housing Authority has directed to prepare a draft summary for the scheme of providing residential plots for parliamentarians on the land allocated by the CDA. In which the standard of residential plot allotment and other aspects will be determined according to the laws and regulations and the draft will be sent to the cabinet.

The Board has also been directed to prepare a scheme for Parliamentarians on the lines of the Housing Authority’s Park Road Scheme which has been implemented in partnership with the Supreme Court Bar Association. will be notified in the next meeting.

It should be remembered that the Federal Government Employees Housing Authority (FGEHA) is a subsidiary body of the Ministry of Housing and Construction, whose job is to develop residential schemes for federal government employees and provide plots, before giving plots to parliamentarians in various parliamentary committees. The issue of allotment has been under discussion, on the basis of which the parliamentarians are now formally convened for the allotment of plots of co-category one.

Until then, grade 22 officers are eligible to get category one plot, now consideration is being given to include parliamentarians for allotment of plots in the same category.
