Islamabad (Daily Pakistan Online) Bill 2024 to repeal and amend the Contempt of Court Ordinance 2003 has been introduced in the House.
According to the private TV channel Dunya News, the bill was presented by the National Assembly of the JUI Noor Alam, the text of the bill says that the Contempt of Court Ordinance should be canceled or amended under this law , many Prime Ministers are sent home to make a speech or speak anywhere.
Azam Nazir Tarar said that instead of amending the Constitution, the laws should be improved.
PTI president Barrister Gohar opposed the bill, that if the law of contempt of court is repealed, then the decision of the court should not be repealed, the members should suggest their amendment put the tradition to reject the bill here, let it go to the committee, Speaker National Assembly sent the bill to the relevant committee.
