Darlington Dogs Trust: 7 dogs were adopted this month

Dogs Trust Darlington has a number of rescue dogs looking for forever homes this month.

We’ve compiled a list of seven puppies that hope to brighten up their new owner’s lives.

Priscilla and Jess, Shih Tzus

These inseparable puppies come as a package deal and are looking for their forever home together.

The center says the two love nothing more than snuggling up in a cozy place and spending time with their people.

They prefer to be the only pets in the house because they are a bit nervous around other canines.

A spokesperson for the Trust said: “Percilla and Jess are a sweet little duo who would make perfect companions for a family who enjoy cozying up to their pooches and enjoying all the snuggles. .”

Mouse, American Bulldog cross

Mouse was described by center staff as a “happy, bubbly girl” who would make a wonderful companion for anyone she was with.

The center said he wanted a quiet place without too many dogs walking around the house.

They added that this puppy can live with secondary school-aged children who can respect his space when he needs it.

A spokesperson for the Trust said: “The mouse loves his toys, and this brings out his playful side.

“He can do zoomies during playtime so it’s useful for him to have a safe garden to have playtime.

“The mouse is a true sweetheart that will make a wonderful addition to a loving home.”

Jasper, Spaniel

This cat is looking for a calm environment with a spacious garden to enjoy playtime.

He prefers to live with older teenagers aged 16 and over.

They said he may have walking companions waiting for a gentle introduction.

The center said: “Jasper is a beautiful, energetic child who enjoys being busy. He likes to explore on walks and he can use his nose to work in search games.

“Playtimes are so much more fun when water is involved! Her love of food helps in the training she wants to continue with her family.

Ludo, Great Dane cross

This beautiful baby is looking for his forever home and would love to share his home with another dog.

He can live with secondary school aged children aged 14 and above.

Center staff say the best way to get around Ludo is to indulge his love of food.

They said: “Ludo is a playful 8-year-old Great Dane cross who loves to play with toys but sometimes hesitates to give them up so needs to be replaced while playing.

“As he is a big boy, he can be strong on the lead so will benefit from having some passive training on the lead.

“Ludo is looking for a family that will give him the love and affection he deserves.”

Grandma, Staffordshire Bull Terrier cross

Staff said a quiet home would be best for Lola as she searches for her forever family.

His new family will be asked by the center to visit him a few times at the center before the adoption.

They believe that living with another dog will also help boost Lola’s confidence.

They said: “Grandma has a sheltered life to find the big wide world too overwhelming. Giving her time and space to come out of her shell will reward you to see her playfulness that character.

“Chasing a ball is one of his favorite games. Grandma is a fan of high-value treats which are a great way to start a new friendship and help with her ongoing training.

“With patient owners and the right set-up, we are sure that Lola will thrive and it will be a reward watching her blossom.”

This old man is looking for the perfect retirement home to live out the rest of his years.

The center thought it was fine to leave him alone and noted his tendency to sleep.

They said: “Blake is a lovely boy who loves getting all the attention and snuggling up on the sofa.

“Even as a senior chap, he still walks to quieter places followed by a game of tug in the garden.

“Blake is a fan of his meals which is great for maintaining his skills.”
