Death anniversary of country’s first PM Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, Rahul Gandhi and Kharge paid tribute by reaching Shanti Van

Today is the 59th death anniversary of the country’s first Prime Minister Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru. Jawaharlal Nehru died on this day on May 27, 1964. On this occasion, the whole country is remembering him and saluting him. Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and former Congress President Rahul Gandhi reached Shanti Van in Delhi on the occasion and paid tribute to Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru.

Jawaharlal Nehru was born on November 4, 1889 in Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh. His father Pandit Motilal Nehru was a member of the Congress Party. Pandit Nehru wanted to practice as a lawyer, but he could only practice for a few days. In those days, Mahatma Gandhi had started the freedom movement in the country. Nehru was so impressed by the freedom movement being run by Mahatma Gandhi that he too joined him in the freedom movement. Pandit Nehru became the first Prime Minister of independent India. He died on May 27, 1964.
