Dellner Glass Solutions Receives Health Award – Consett Magazine
Dellner Glass Solutions is proud to receive a Bronze ‘Better Health At Work Award’. The scheme, run by the TUC supported by Public Health England, recognizes the efforts of employers who address health and wellness issues within the workplace. Achieving the Bronze Award demonstrates Dellner’s commitment to the health of its employees.
A group of Health Advocates created three programs of events to address the health problems of employees. Sue McGregor, Director of QHSE explained the activities “The first campaign was healthy eating and we introduced free juice and fruit so staff had the option to make healthier choices. We created a space for everyone to share healthy recipe ideas, we ran a quiz to educate ourselves on healthy eating and the winner won a smoothie maker! For the mental health campaign we ran a photo competition challenging staff to share ideas on how they can keep their mental health strong and created a map of the local area showing the walking route near the factory to encourage staff to rest outside. For the back health campaign an Osteopath came to the factory to show us how to take care of our back while working and gave us exercises to try which was great fun! We are proud to have achieved the Bronze Award and look forward to working towards the Silver Award in 2024”
