Dewayat Khawad, a folk writer of Saurashtra, has been booked for attempted murder
In Saurashtra, a case of attempt to murder has been registered against Dewayat Khawad, a folk writer who became famous for his dialogue ‘Rano Rana’s style’. A case has been registered under sections 307, 325, 506 (2), 114 of the IPC as well as sections of the Gujarat Police Act against a total of three persons including Dewayat Khawad in the A Division Police Station of Rajkot city. All the accused are absconding, the police has launched an investigation to nab the accused.
According to information, on December 7, near Pushkardham Flats in Sarveswar Chowk area of Rajkot, Dewayat Khawad along with another man attacked a person named Mayursingh Rana. Mayursingh Rana was severely injured in arms and legs when Devayat Khawde beat him with a hammer and an iron pipe. The entire incident was currently captured on CCTV and this video is going viral on social media.
In the complaint given to the police, the prosecutor Mayursingh Rana has said that the reason behind the attack was that my maternal uncle, who lived next to Dewayat Khawad, had an argument about parking there a year or so ago. The police have registered a case in this matter and set the wheels in motion to find the accused. Dewayat Khawad’s house was also searched by the police. But the police said that Dewayat Khavad was not at home.
