The Vice Chancellor of the Academy of Health Services, Prof. Shahzad, says the doctors take a commission from the companies and recommend canned milk to mothers for their babies.
Academy of Health Services Vice-Chancellor Professor Shahzad, while addressing an event, said that in a survey, 80 percent of Pakistani mothers said that doctors, nurses and hospital medical staff recommended bottle feeding instead of breast milk.
He said that some doctors work with the connivance of formula milk companies, taking commissions and recommending canned milk.
He also said that mother’s milk gives the best natural immunity, canned milk increases the risk of heart, diabetes and mental diseases in children many times, canned milk is destroying the health of children.
