Ratanpur police outpost of Bichiwada police station on Monday seized a truck full of illegal liquor at Ratanpur border of Rajasthan-Gujarat. At the same time, the driver has also been arrested. Police have recovered 502 cartons of illicit liquor worth Rs 40 lakh from the truck. Liquor was being smuggled in the guise of the accused apple. The accused is being questioned by the police.
SHO Madanlal of Bichiwada police station told that SP Kundan Kavariya told that a campaign is being run against illegal liquor smuggling. Under the campaign, liquor smuggling was reported through the informer. On which blockade was done on Ratanpur border by Ratanpur police post. During this, a truck coming from Udaipur was stopped and searched. The top of the truck was filled with cartons of apples. At the same time, cartons of liquor were filled under the cartons of apples.
Police has seized the truck. While registering a case under the Excise Act, Haryana resident truck driver Krishan Kumar s/o Devilal Jat has been arrested. Police recovered 502 cartons of different brands of illicit liquor along with 200 cartons of apples from the truck. Station Officer Madanlal said that the value of the seized liquor is said to be around Rs 40 lakh. At present, the police is interrogating the accused.
