Drugs, weapons seized from Sheet Harbor home: NS RCMP

A man and woman from Sheet Harbor, NS, have been charged with drug and firearms offenses after a search warrant was issued at a community residence over the weekend.

Halifax District RCMP, along with RCMP’s Emergency Response Team, searched a home on Albert Howe Lane on Saturday as part of an ongoing firearms investigation.

Four people were in the home at the time of the search, police said.

Two of those residents, a 30-year-old man and a 32-year-old woman, were arrested for drug and weapons offenses, according to RCMP.

Police say two other residents of the house are not involved in the incident.

One of the occupants suffered minor injuries and was treated and freed by EHS. Police say no one else was injured.

During the search, officers seized a replica firearm, a quantity of suspected methamphetamine, suspected opioids and cannabis products, according to police.

Both the man and the woman were arrested.

Stephen James Power has been charged with:

  • two counts of possession of a firearm in violation of a prohibition order
  • possession of a firearm, knowing that it is illegal to possess it
  • unauthorized possession of a firearm
  • careless use of a firearm
  • possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
  • possession of property acquired through crime
  • failure to comply with a probation order
  • possession of cannabis for sale
  • possession for use in the production or distribution of illegal cannabis

Brittany Catherine Sack has been charged with:

  • possession of a firearm in violation of the prohibition order
  • possession of a firearm, knowing that it is illegal to possess it
  • unauthorized possession of a firearm
  • careless use of a firearm
  • possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
  • two counts of possession of property obtained through crime
  • possession of cannabis for sale
  • possession for use in the production or distribution of illegal cannabis

Power and Sack have been remanded in custody and are expected to appear in Dartmouth County Court on Thursday at 9:30 a.m.
