According to the force, a Pakistani boat off the coast of Gujarat was trying to enter Indian waters with arms, ammunition and about 40 kg of drugs worth Rs 300 crore. It has been seized. The force has arrested 10 people in the boat.
According to sources, the Indian Coast Guard spotted a Pakistani fishing boat ‘Al Soheli’ moving suspiciously in Indian waters early Monday morning. When the coast guard started questioning the boatmen, they fled. The boat did not stop despite the coast guards firing. Later the Coast Guard vessel ‘Arinjoy’ intercepted the Pakistani boat. All were arrested as they were on the boat. Detainees are being interrogated. An investigation has been started to find out where those huge weapons and drugs were being smuggled, who are the pandas. Incidentally, this is the seventh joint operation of Indian Coast Guard and Gujarat ATS in the last 18 months. During this period, 346 kg of heroin worth Tk 1930 crore has been seized. So far, 44 Pakistani nationals and seven Iranians have been arrested for their involvement in smuggling.
