Electric fan exports up 31.96 percent in 2 months

Electric fans exports grew by 31.96 percent in 2 months The exports of electric fans from the country during the first two months of the financial year (2022-23) showed a growth of 31.96 percent over the same period last year.

According to the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS), Pakistan exported fans worth US$ 5.843 million during July-August (2022-23) as compared to exports of US$ 4.428 million during July-August (2021-22), which showing an increase of 31.96 percent. ,

In terms of quantity, the export of fans also increased by 31.20 percent from 266 thousand to 349 thousand.

Meanwhile, on a year-on-year basis, fan exports grew by 49.15 per cent during the month of August 2022 as compared to the same month last year.

Data from PBS showed that fan exports were recorded at US$3.159 million in August 2022, compared to $2.118 million in August 2021.

On a month-on-month basis, fan exports grew by 17.70 percent in August 2022 as against $2.684 million in July 2022.

It is pertinent to mention here that the total merchandise imports into the country declined by 9.25 per cent during the first two months of the current financial year from $12.152 billion in the previous year to $11.028 billion in July-August (2022-23) .

Exports from the country witnessed a growth of 3.75 per cent and stood at $4.759 billion as against last year’s exports of $4.587 billion.

Based on data, the trade deficit during the period under review was recorded at $6.269 billion, a decrease of 17.13 percent from the deficit of $7.565 billion recorded during the previous year, PBS data showed.
