LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 15th Aug, 2024 ) Punjab Agriculture Secretary Iftikhar Ali Sahoo has said that the target of registration of one million farmers for Kisan Card will be achieved by 31 ‘August.
According to official sources here, the secretary said that so far more than 600,000 farmers had registered for the cards.
He said that the provision of Kisan Card will start from September 1 and it will be provided by the nearest branches of Bank of Punjab.
From October 15, fertilizers, pesticides and seeds could be purchased through Kisan Card, he added.
He directed the relevant officials to speed up the registration process of vendors for the purchase of pesticides,
seeds and fertilizer with Kisan Card.
Officials of the Agriculture department, representatives of Bank of Punjab and others attended the meeting.
