Escort clients drugged and robbed, Surrey RCMP warns Pipa News

Pipa News |

On Friday, Surrey’s RCMP sent out an alert to the public saying that several people were drugged and robbed while using escort services across the region.

“Police became aware of several cases where people hired an escort online, met at pre-arranged locations throughout the Lower Mainland, were under the influence of drugs and woke up to find their valuables had been stolen,” the RCMP said in a statement.

The RCMP say they are concerned about these incidents because of the health and safety risks for people who are under the influence of unknown substances.

“Any meeting with unknown people that takes place behind closed doors carries an inherent risk for all parties involved,” the statement said.

The police say that if you decide to meet someone you don’t know, you should take a few precautions:

  • Always keep an eye on all food and drinks you consume to make sure they are not spilled.
  • Don’t take anything that the other person has given you.
  • Avoid using drugs or alcohol, as these can impair your ability to keep yourself safe.
  • Let a trusted friend or family member know where you are so they can contact the police if you don’t meet them at the agreed time.

The police believe that there are probably other victims who do not want to report what happened to the police.

Surrey’s RCMP is urging anyone experiencing something like this to contact the local police.
