Europe wants to boycott Russian energy by 2026
PubMed Webdesk: The European Commission wants to completely eliminate Russia’s energy dependence by 2026. In this way, Europe will completely stop importing fuel from the country. The commission has published a plan of 195 billion euros. This financial plan is to end the dependence on Russian energy. Under this, fast renewable energy will be provided in Europe which will be an alternative to Russian energy. That could change a bit before the draft plan is released next week. Analysts say that although Europe has taken strong action against Russia over the Ukraine war, there are still some countries in Europe that continue to trade with Russia on the ground. Considering the national interest, they are buying fuel in Russian currency Ruble. According to a report, Russia is now creating new markets in Asia, even though energy exports to Europe are lower than before. So Western attempts to put pressure on Russia have failed. Western sanctions have had little effect on the Russian economy. The EU also disagreed over sanctions on Russian energy.
