“A team of doctors has been deployed in the village for the next 24 hours. Necessary medical equipment, medicines have also been provided and temporary alternative arrangements for drinking water have been made,” Babu said.
He further said that people have been asked to visit doctors if they develop symptoms of vomiting and loose motions. The villagers have been instructed to drink only boiled water.
Those lying ill have been shifted to Raichur Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) and other hospitals in Arkera and Devdurga, officials said.
The villagers also claimed that sewage water had mixed with the drinking water. A local said, “Such accidents are happening again and again due to wrong work in repairing the pipes.”
