Financial fraud of 538 million rupees! Jet Airways Founder Arrested After Daylong Interrogation – News18 Bangla

Jet Airways founder Naresh Goel arrested in Canada Bank fraud case There are allegations of financial embezzlement of around 538 crore rupees in his name. Before his arrest on Friday, however, he was interrogated for a long time by the Enforcement Directorate (ED). According to media reports, 74-year-old Naresh Goyal left to face interrogation at the Serious Fraud Investigation Office (LFIO) on Friday. But the ED officers took him for questioning. In fact, the Central Bureau of Investigation had summoned him twice before. However, he could not appear there both times. He was finally arrested late at night.

The incident started in May this year. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) registered a case against him on the basis of an FIR for financial embezzlement. On May 5, 2023, CBI officials raided a total of 7 places in Mumbai, including Goyal’s residence and office. Not only Goel, but his wife Anita and some former employees of the company are also found to be involved in the financial fraud case. The CBI’s FIR states that on November 11 last year, Naresh Goel, the founder of Jet Airways, was charged with fraud, criminal conspiracy, trust. Charges of criminal trespass and criminal misconduct were filed. It also claimed that Anita Naresh Goyal, Gaurang Anand Shetty, some government employees and others were responsible for the loss of Rs 538.62 crore in Canara Bank. The complaint was signed by P Santosh, Chief General Manager of Canara Bank.

Incidentally, Jet Airways shut down in April 2019 after nearly 25 years of service. The reason given is that the airline does not have the funds required to continue the service. As a result, they have faced heavy financial losses.
