First case of H3N2 in Jharkhand, five new cases of Kovid-19 have been reported

The first case of H3N2 influenza has been reported in Jharkhand, besides five new cases of COVID-19, a health department official said on Sunday.

A 68-year-old woman, who was admitted to Jamshedpur’s Tata Main Hospital (TMH) on Thursday with symptoms of cold and fever, tested positive for influenza virus H3N2 on Saturday, the official said.

Confirming the report, Dr. Jujhar Manjhi, civil surgeon of East Singhbhum district, said that the victim has been kept in the isolation ward and is being monitored. He said the victim had no travel history.
