Former Punjab Congress chief Sunil Jha has quit the party

Former Punjab Chief Minister Sunil Jha quit the party on Saturday.

Punjab State Congress President, MP, MLA Sunil Jack held the post. Sunil Jack had said that after Amarinda Singh stepped down as Punjab Chief Minister last year, 42 MLAs had backed him to become the Chief Minister, but Saranjeet Singh Sunny, who was supported by only two MLAs, was made the Chief Minister. This caused a stir in the party.

In this context, the Congress Disciplinary Committee sent a notice to Sunil Jha on April 11 last year seeking an explanation for Awwa’s poor comments on party leaders. However, Ava did not respond to the notice. He was subsequently stripped of all positions in Congress for his anti-party activities.

In the meantime, Ao announced his resignation from Congress in a post on Facebook on Saturday. She said it was a gift to the party.

Congress should not lose: Former Punjab Congress leader Navjot Singh Sidhu tweeted, “Sunil Jack is the property of the Congress. The party should not lose him. Any differences of opinion can be resolved through dialogue, ”he said.
