Saru Ganguly had to explain his statement about the incident of rape and murder of a woman doctor in a medical college and hospital in Kolkata.

A 31-year-old post-graduate doctor was raped and murdered at RG Kar Medical College in Kolkata on the 9th of this month, she was found dead with facial injuries in the seminar room of the hospital.

After this horrible incident, there is a strong protest from the celebrities of India with the common people, but the former captain of the Indian cricket team, Saru Ganguly, also condemned this incident, but his statement created a new controversy had to clarify his statement.

According to Indian media, Saru Ganguly said during an event in Calcutta on August 11, 2 days after the incident of the rape and murder of a female doctor, “Being the father of a daughter, I am also in a state of shock over this incident.” But the whole system cannot be blamed for this one incident, West Bengal and India in general are considered safe.

Sourav Ganguly’s statement drew backlash from social media users, following which he had to issue another clarifying statement.

Ganguly later said in another explanatory statement that his statement was misunderstood.

Saru Ganguly said that this is a terrible incident and the culprits involved should be punished severely so that no one can commit such a crime in future.

He said that the protest of the people is completely justified and if such an incident happened in any corner of the world, the reaction of the people would have been the same.
