‘Give 2 Crore Property to Cancer Centre’ – Letter from a bereaved woman

When all the family members were sick and died, a woman died due to stress and died after writing a letter urging her to donate her property worth 2 crore rupees worth of jewelry, money and house to the Kanchipuram Anna Cancer Center.

Sundari Bhai (54) was a resident of Mahizhambu Street, Avadi Kamaraj Nagar. Neighbors informed the Avadi police that he had died in his house on February 17. Based on that, the police went to the spot and confirmed the death of Sundari Bhai. When the police department inquired about this from the people nearby, it was revealed that before the death of Sundari Bhai, his elder sister Janaki also died on the 14th of the same month. Elder Janaki and younger brother Sundari Bhai were the only two living in the house, as Janaki died recently due to ill health and younger sister Sundari Bai also died, the police and revenue department raided her house. Then a letter was found in his house.

The letter said, “Our father and mother died of a heart attack in 2000. After that, in the years 2013 and 2014, both my sister and brother died of cancer. After that, my sister Janaki and I lived alone for 10 years. Last February 15, Akka Janaki died due to ill health. After that I couldn’t be alone. We have 90 savaran jewelry, 30 lacs in post office bank and 30 lacs in Indian bank account. It was revealed that he had written a letter insisting that everything, including the house we were living in, should be given to the Anna Cancer Center in Kancheepuram.

The police seized all these and decided to hand over the assets of the deceased Sundari Bhai to the revenue department as there were no heirs. After that, the police department headed by Assistant Inspector Prema of Avadi handed over 54 pieces of gold jewellery, money and house deed to Avadi Deputy Tahsildar Senthil Murugan and the revenue department officer, while the revenue department officials kept them safely in Avadi treasury.

A woman suffering from ill health due to the loss of her older sister, younger brother and second sister due to ill health, wrote a letter urging them to give the family property to the cancer center before her death, which has caused a stir in Avadi.

Meanwhile, the letter mentions 90 Sawaran necklaces. But while the police have seized only 54 Savaran jewels, there has been a demand for a proper investigation into the mystery of the rest of the jewels that were donated with humanity even after death.
