Web Desk: Global technology company Google launched the initiative to produce 5 lakh Chromebooks in Pakistan and presented the first Chromebook to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
Addressing the O Google Pakistan Go Forward event in Islamabad, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif praised the cooperation of Google globally and in Pakistan and said that their collaboration and services are commendable.
Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has promised to completely digitize the country’s paperless and government system to remove massive corruption in the best interest of the people of Pakistan.
He said that the young generation of the country is very capable in the field of information technology which can play a key role in the economic development of Pakistan.
The Prime Minister said that the federal and provincial governments should use all possible resources for their education and empowerment of the youth.
He asked IT experts and industrialists to come up with a plan to promote small and medium businesses and freelancers, and also help the government achieve the goal.
He said that the government has hired a new secretary for the Ministry of IT and Telecommunication in a transparent manner.
On this occasion, the Minister of State for Information Technology and Telecommunication Shaza Fatima Khawaja said that the services of Google in Pakistan are worthy of praise, Google is playing an important role in the digitization of Pakistan under the vision of Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif.
He said that with artificial intelligence and digitization we can reach the goal, we have to make our youth skilled, in addition to integrate the technical skills of 75 thousand IT graduates Google Pakistan Director Farhan S. Qureshi addressed the event Information technology will help to increase economic activity in the country.
The Federal Minister highlighted that there are vast opportunities for freelancers in Pakistan to advance in various fields of technology, Google is conducting 4 to 6 month courses on data analysis, artificial intelligence and cyber security.
