Government will not impose any decision on school uniform: Bratya Basu – Uttarbanga Sambad
Kolkata: The government will not impose any decision on school uniforms. This is what Education Minister Bratya Bose said. All government, government-aided and government-aided schools in the state were supposed to change the color of school uniform to blue-white. But many schools objected to adopting blue and white uniforms instead of their traditional ones. However, the minister’s declaration is clear that the government is unwilling to go the route of coercion in this regard.
Meanwhile, many schools have complained that the clothes have not yet arrived. Teachers said that while some primary schools received one or two sets of clothes, in many secondary and higher secondary schools, fifth to eighth grade students have not received a single set yet. Some schools got a set. Commissioner of School Education Department Shubhra Chakraborty said that efforts are being made to give at least one set of clothes to all schools before Puja.
