12 Indonesian scholars visit ICCBS for research training
Karachi: A group of 12 Indonesian university scholars have come to the International Center for Chemical and Biological Sciences (ICCBS), University of Karachi (UOK) to pursue a research training programme.
According to the spokesperson of the ICCBS University of Karachi, 12 Indonesian scholars have arrived at the ICCBS University in Karachi. He said that these foreign scholars will receive training in various areas of chemistry and molecular medicines under the ICCBS and COMSTECH Scholarship Program for Indonesian Young Scientists.
According to the spokesperson, these scholars are from Sumatera Utara University in Indonesia and they will be provided the opportunity to learn various biological techniques. They will also be given the facility to participate in various academic activities at two premier institutes of ICCBS including Dr. Panjwani Center for Molecular Medicine and Drug Research (PCMD) and HEJ Research Institute of Chemistry, he added.
Professor Dr M Iqbal Choudhury, Director, International Center for Chemical and Biological Sciences and Comstec Coordinator General welcomed the foreign scholars and said that this joint venture will promote science and technology between the two brother countries. He further added that this program will allow us to develop new and innovative technologies and products to meet the challenges of the future. ICCBS is the only institute in Pakistan which is certified by ISO, and has also become the ‘UNESCO Center for Excellence Category-II Institute’, he said.
