Ahmedabad: A case has come to light in the city that shames the relationship between father-in-law and daughter-in-law. A father-in-law interfered between son and daughter-in-law after marriage and started to torture the daughter-in-law mentally. Then, seeing the daughter-in-law alone in the house, the father-in-law said, ‘I have all the happiness, not the happiness of the night. My wife cannot give that, so will you give me that happiness?’. When the girl told this to her husband, the husband also did not support her. So the daughter-in-law got fed up and filed a complaint against the husband, father-in-law and mother-in-law in the women’s police station and the police conducted an investigation.

A 24-year-old girl living in Vasana got married to a young man living in Mehsana in February. After the marriage, when the girl was going to go for a walk with her husband, her father-in-law asked her to go along. Even when the girl was in the room with her husband, the father-in-law used to knock on the door and harass her. When the girl would complain to her husband about this, the husband would say that he is the father, what happened. After that, the father-in-law stopped going out with his son and daughter-in-law and often tortured the girl. When the girl spoke to her mother-in-law about this, her mother-in-law did not listen to her saying ‘I suffered now you bear it’.

Not only this, one day the girl and her father-in-law were alone in the house. Then the father-in-law called the girl and said, ‘I have all the happiness, but not the happiness of the night. If my wife cannot give me that happiness, then you can give me that happiness.’ Hearing this from her father-in-law, the girl was scared and went to the room. So the father-in-law threatened, ‘If you tell this to anyone, I will commit suicide by falling into the canal.’

If the girl complained to her husband about this, the husband said that he would take action, instead of taking action, the wife was put in the pier. So the girl got fed up and filed a complaint against her husband, mother-in-law and father-in-law in Mahila Paschim police station and the police investigated the whole matter.
