Inauguration of Margaon Shimgotsav Committee Office – Tarun Bharat
Margaon : The office of Madgaon Shimgotsav Committee has been opened near Spicy Hotel and it was inaugurated by local MLA Digambar Kamat on Tuesday. On this occasion Naveli MLA Ulhas Tuyekar, Mayor Damodar Shirodkar and other dignitaries were present. In the said Shimgotsav committee, MLA Kamat is the president, MLA Tuyekar is the senior vice president, former MLA Damodar Naik is the secretary and Shirodkar, the mayor, is the treasurer.
After the inauguration of the said office, Sri Dambaba’s blessings were taken by placing a coconut on Pimplakatta. This is the old Shimgotsav Committee established in the year 1988 and this office was taken when you were the Chairman of the Committee for four consecutive years. Kamat reminded that at that time Damodar Naik, the then MLA of Fatorda, was the secretary and Ulhas Redkar was the treasurer. Government Shimgotsav procession will be held in Margaon on Saturday 18th March. MLA Kamat expressed his belief that the same way the carnival procession from Margao got a spontaneous response, the Shimgotsava procession will also be successful. It was clarified that cultural programs will be organized by the committee along with the procession. Mayor Shirodkar informed that before the inauguration, the said Shimgotsav office was painted and rituals like homam-havan were performed in it.
