India won the Commonwealth Games. Sanket Mahadev Sargar, a 21-year-old weightlifter from Maharashtra won the first medal for our country. He won silver medal in 55 kg weightlifting category. In the final match held today, he lifted a total weight of 248 kg (113 kg + 135 kg) in two rounds and won the silver medal. In fact, there were speculations that Sanket had a chance of winning the gold medal. But Sanket injured his right elbow while lifting 138 kg in the second round. As a result, he was able to lift 135 kg of 138 kg. On the other hand, in the second round of the same final match, Malaysia’s Bin Kasdan Mohammad Aneeq won the gold medal by lifting 142 kg.
